We built HomeSummo because the home improvement industry is broken.

And we know—because we worked inside it.

The truth about how it works

Here's what happens when you fill out a form on most home improvement websites: your information gets sold. Not to one company—to five, ten, sometimes more.

Within minutes, your phone starts ringing. Salespeople who paid $50 to $300 for your contact info are racing to get you on the line first. They're trained to close fast because they need to recoup that cost.

The pressure isn't personal—it's structural. The entire industry is built on lead generation, not on serving homeowners. Every call you receive is from someone who sees you as a number, not a neighbor.

Your home deserves better than a bidding war.

What we saw from the inside

Our founder spent four years in the window and door industry, including time at one of the largest replacement window companies in the country. He saw the lead lists. He sat in the sales meetings. He saw what happens behind closed doors. Homeowners held hostage in their own living rooms for hours. Artificial prices inflated just to be "negotiated" down. Reps calling managers for theatrical discounts while quietly swapping materials, downgrading options, changing the actual order—never telling the homeowner what they were losing with each price drop. By the time the exhausted homeowner finally signs just to make it stop, they don't even know what they agreed to. Then comes the buyer's remorse. The PTSD from their own kitchen table. And eventually, a crew shows up to install something they never really chose.

But he also saw what actually helps: honest answers to honest questions. Realistic timelines instead of manufactured urgency. Someone who listens more than they pitch.

The best outcomes happened when homeowners felt informed and in control. The worst happened when they felt rushed.

From the founder

I live in the Pacific Northwest with my family. I'm a homeowner too—which means I've been on both sides of this industry. I've seen the pressure from the inside, and I've felt it as a customer.

I built HomeSummo because I wanted my neighbors to have something better. A tool that respects their time, answers their questions honestly, and never treats them like a lead to be converted.

If Summit can turn your chaos into a plan, and save you from even one pushy sales call, we've done our job.

The Summit Way

Why "Summit"? It's a word with two meanings that matter to us.

A summit is a peak—the highest point, the goal you're working toward. Every home project has its own summit: the finished kitchen, the new windows, the roof that finally stops leaking.

But a summit is also a meeting. A gathering of people who come together to solve problems, share knowledge, and find a path forward. That's what we want every conversation with Summit to feel like.

We also borrowed something from an unexpected place: the sumo wrestler. Grounded. Patient. Powerful. Present without being pushy. A sumo wrestler doesn't chase—they plant their feet and meet what comes.

Gravitas. Honor. Patience. Truth.
